We are rapidly approaching another winter charter season and the Bahamas and Caribbean anxiously await your presence. The private yacht industry continues to show rapid growth with more luxury yachts joining the charter market this year. Zingara, one of my all-time favorites is highlighted below. A focal point this season is Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas. I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Grandest of openings this past March. The Beach Boys were tapped to entertain the crowd of yachting dignitaries from all over the globe. For now this is the world’s finest mega yacht marina. This season she’ll be an incredible host to yachts from 50 to 500 feet. Featured Yacht – The Magnificent Zingara
The story of Zingara tells of a gypsy maid and cook who stowed away on a ship headed for the Cape of Good Hope. Along the way she sewed magnificent dresses and practiced her social graces. When she arrived in South Africa she emerged as the Countess Zingara who became the toast of aristocratic society.
This tale of metamorphoses is such a fitting namesake because Zingara may transform the face of luxury yachting. She combines the benefits of a luxury power yacht with the speed and sportiness of a sailing yacht. And the hidden bonus is her efficient and light design that helps her reach reasonable cruising speeds of 13-15 knots and top speeds of over 20 knots without burning thousands of dollars of fuel. As such, the yacht can realistically offer an all inclusive price.
The yacht features a master stateroom up with a unique forward facing view and a Jacuzzi tub. The other four en-suite staterooms could qualify as a master on most catamarans. Uniquely, the yacht has another Jacuzzi tub on her massive fly bridge.
An amazing crew of 4 headed up by husband and wife team of John and Rachelle Yoxall who are both Dive Masters as well. We had the privilege of their hospitality for a three night charter in May. Rachelle is a terrific chef and hostess. I especially recommend her pork loin with special mushroom demi-glaze. I would consider Captain John to be one of the better amateur historians I have experienced. His knowledge of the local wildlife and sea life and tales of pirate history were well researched. First Mate and Dive Instructor Frans Louw thoroughly impressed one of our guests while leading him through a cave dive at the Dogs – this guest was not easily impressed having logged over 10,000 dives himself as a full time Dive Istructor. Because of her speed, Zingara is available for charter throughout the Caribbean but hurry up and contact us soon – her calendar for the next two years is already filling up.

Barometer - Pure Bliss on St. Maarten
Located just ten minutes from the Simpson Bay Marinas in the heart of the Maho nightlife district on the Dutch side of St. Maarten, Bliss can hold its own against the hippest South Beach nightclub. Fine Upstanding Member of the Charter Community
Reggae superstar Bankie Banx has been performing on his native Anguilla since the release of his first album in 1977. He has been compared to both Bob Dylan and Bob Marley - not bad company. A supporter of environmental and human rights causes, last year he joined his good friend Jimmy Buffet for an amazing beach front benefit concert on Anguilla that is still being talked about as one of the Caribbean’s best parties.
The eclectic beach bar The Dunes Preserve on Anguilla’s Rendezvous Bay can be reached by tender and has been home to Bankie Banx for over 15 years. Located on Arguably the world’s finest beach, the Dunes Preserve was once described by an Elle Magazine writer as ”the coolest place in the Caribbean” and should be a priority stop on any Leeward Island charter.
